30 Minutes Ago: Royal family issues disclaimer one year after Kate Middleton Photoshop row
Royal Family made a surprising move as they released delightful portraits of the royal children to celebrate a special occasion.
Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, the youngest children of King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark, celebrated their 14th birthday in January, but their portraits were released on Friday.
“New official portraits of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine have just been released,” the Danish royals wrote alongside the stunning portraits of the twins. “It is a tradition that new official portraits of the members of the royal family are regularly produced. These portraits are used by the King’s House in different official contexts.”
The statement also gave credit to photographer, Steen Evald, for the images.
Before concluding the official message, the Royal House added an unusual disclaimer for the portraits, as it has not been shared on any previous posts from the Danish royal family.
“In line with the Royal House’s practice for official pictures, only light, colour and contrast are adjusted. The content of the picture does not change.”
The message appears to be reminiscent of the Photoshop controversy that occurred in the British Royal Family last year after the Princess of Wales shared a Mother’s Day family photo, which quickly turned into a controversy.

After Kate had shared the family photo amid her prolonged absence from the public, fans were excited to see a glimpse of the royal. However, things quickly took a shocking turn after Associated Press issued a ‘Kill Notice’ after the image was found to be ‘altered at the source’.
The mom of three had later released a statement sharing that she had been ‘experimenting with editing.
The disclaimer message also comes ahead of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son, Prince George’s birthday as he will be turning 12 on July 22, 2025.
